Andy Goldsworthy

Amazing work by Andy Goldsworthy.

His art is derived from the natural world. They can be impermanent and fleeting, but beautiful nonetheless.

Process

Teardrop pendant

After the wax has been shaped into the desired form, heated on an open fire pit, the molten metal is poured into the plaster mold.

Wait a few until the metal solidifies.

Break the ceramic mold and clear off any residue with a soft metal bristle brush.

Here are a few pieces made. All we have to do is cut off the excess metal and finish each piece.

Example of one of the finished pieces worked on. This is a pretty substantial Teardrop. After it's been sanded down and buffed, it's ready to wear!

Necklace is modeled by Liz of Claflin & Thayer.
